I got a promotion at work, and am now taking up responsibilities in the bar at Pappadeaux Seafood House (where I work). Well, we had to do vigorous training the other day which consisted of lifting 100+ pounds for like 4 hours (This is before I have to be to work at 3:00p.m. for the night shift). So we get there at 8:00 in the a.m., and I'm tired just thinking of the tasks that were to be ahead of me. As we're lifting these stainless steel shelves across the restaurant, I drop one that hits my knee (instantly welts), and onto my big toe(it's instantly swollen and purple). So after 4 hours of slamming a few fingers,getting a total of 6 cuts on my hands and totally jacking up my back, I'm BEAT!! Well, it's 12:00p.m. and I have to sit in for some meeting for another hour and a half. Well I'm heading home to take a 1 1/2 break before going back to work, and as I pull up to my apartment,the wheel hit the curb really weird and flung the steering wheel really quick to the left, and then instantly to the right. All the while my hand was caught in the wheel, rips off half of my thumb nail, and I end up literally half way up on the curb, facing sideways!!! I couldn't move my hand (I literally thought it was sprained), blood was going everywhere from my thumb nail, and I couldn't move to get the car stuck off of the curb. I finally did though, went inside, cleaned up and the pain diminished slowly. Well, before I was about ready to leave for work again, I decided, "You know, I'm going to sit down at the dinner table and enjoy a nice hefty bowl of spaghetti..umm...umm!" Well, I had forgotten that our chair was broken. So I sit......was this not the cherry on top.....I flew to the side of my chair , hit my chin on the table on my way down, and jabbed my back and shoulder into our bike (the pedal and handlebar to be exact) that was being stored behind the table. After all of that I had to look forward to going back to work till about 11:30p.m. that night!!!! What a day!!! A little lengthy, but pretty stupid!!! We now have thunder with the rain. By the way, who sang the song “Thunder Road”, stared in the movie and where was it filmed? Just some trivia, and it was not Winston Churchill. More tomatoes from the vine.

I picked up a crucible using a leather glove, it burnt through the glove in record time, really scorched my hand, I dropped the crucible, it shattered (ruined a several hundred dollar sample), and it burnt a hole through the floor... lesson well learned. I also learned today to check the hotel where you are going to give a presentation for a symposium... I ended up bussing to the Sheraton: Old Town when I was supposed to go to the Hyatt: Downtown.... lesson well learned. Hope this helps, and I will be checking out of ABQ for the summer; I hope to be out west again next summer. Take care Ed, and say hello to Heidi for me too. Much love.
